John Glaister
Professor of Forensic Medicine at the University of Glasgow. Glaister was called to Moffat on 1st October to examine the remains that had been found. His detailed forensic investigations, cooperative leadership of other experts and masterful presentation of evidence at the trial was key to Ruxton’s conviction.
John Couper Brash
Professor of Anatomy at Edinburgh University. The skills of an experienced Anatomist were required to undertake the re-articulation of the body parts. These, along with Brash’s innovative work on matching reconstructions of the skulls with photographs of the victims, provided much of the evidence needed
