Whilst in Prison, Ruxton received a letter from a Mrs Crane. He had met her when he had treated her after she had fallen ill, having eaten seafood, whilst on a day out near Lancaster. Her daughter had been so pleased at her mother’s recovery that she had named her house ‘Ruxton’. Mrs Crane had mentioned this in her letter to Buck Ruxton in Prison.
