Dorothy Stevenson (Mrs. Peploe) lived at North Park at the top of Well Road in Moffat from 1940 until her death in 1973.

She was born in Melville Street, Edinburgh, on 18 November 1892.  A commemorative plaque marking the house where she spent her childhood is mounted at 14 Eglinton Crescent, Edinburgh. Read more on this part of the story by clicking the image below

Dorothy Stevenson wrote the scenario and appeared as Dorothy Peploe in a short film ‘Fickle Fortune’, a dramatised silent film by The Bearsden Film Club of an incident in the life of Rob Roy MacGregor, set in the Trossachs, which was entered in the Scottish Amateur Film Festival of 1933.
